Description
2026 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for student loan borrowers. With the end of SAVE approaching and major transitions expected, preparation now matters more than ever.
It’s currently reported that 8+ million borrowers are in SAVE or SAVE-related forbearance. As these borrowers eventually need to shift to new repayment plans—including the upcoming RAP plan—there is real concern about another large-scale processing pause or breakdown as millions of applications move through the system at once.
The U.S. Department of Education has offered a settlement in the SAVE court case, but once finalized, key questions remain: how quickly will changes be implemented, and how smoothly will borrowers be able to transition?
In the meantime, borrowers in SAVE or SAVE forbearance continue to accrue interest and are not earning qualifying PSLF payments. To resume qualifying progress, borrowers will need to move into another repayment plan—and timing will be critical.
Please join us for this upcoming event, where we’ll answer some of your most pressing questions and walk through what borrowers should be doing now to prepare for 2026, including how to think about RAP and how to avoid getting stuck in another administrative pause. Feel free to invite your friends and loved ones, and RSVP today to save your seat.
